Guruji Speaks Part 1

by Krishnananda Guruji

📖 225 pages 🗓 2000

About This Book

This book is a compilation of lectures given by Guruji Krishnananda from 1990 to 1995 on Sundays at Taponagara, covering a range of subjects like Rishis, Satya Yuga, Meditation, Energies, Reincarnation, importance of individual transformation and many others. These lectures are not discourses on scriptures. The Knowledge is received directly from his guru, Maharshi Amara and the Sapta Rishis living in Higher Planes.

What You'll Learn

• Understand Guruji's approach to the guru-disciple relationship: how he understands the specific role of the guru in the Indian tradition, what the relationship between guru and disciple is intended to accomplish, and how the teaching function is understood to operate through the transmission of the guru's own state rather than merely through the communication of information
• Grasp the meditation teaching: Guruji's specific guidance on the practice of meditation — what genuine meditation is (as distinguished from simple concentration or relaxation), how the depth of meditation develops over time, what the specific experiences and openings that arise in genuine meditation are signs of, and how the fruits of meditation are to be integrated into ordinary life
• Recognise the karma and dharma teaching: how Guruji addresses the practical questions that arise around understanding one's karmic situation and one's dharmic calling — how to discern one's specific purpose, how to work consciously with karmic patterns, and how to navigate the tension between accepting what is (karma) and acting to fulfil one's purpose (dharma)
• Learn the divine grace teaching: how Guruji understands the relationship between personal effort and divine grace — the specific understanding that sustained genuine effort creates the conditions for grace to flow, without determining the specific form in which it arrives or the timing of its appearance
• Appreciate the personal transmission quality: how reading a collection of a realised teacher's actual spoken words creates a different reading experience from texts composed for publication — the directness, the human warmth, the responsiveness to actual seekers' actual questions that gives this collection something of the quality of being in Guruji's presence
